Vol. 73 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Loan for Mayo Dwellinghouse.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the Land Commission sanctioned a loan of £40 to James Greally, Tawnylough, Claremorris, County Mayo, for building a dwelling-house; that the house was completed last March and the old house demolished and that several applications have been made to the Land Commission for payment of said loan; and if he will state the reasons for delay in the payment.

An advance of £40 towards the erection of a new dwellinghouse by James Greally was approved by the Land Commission in March last and was made to him on the 5th instant. It was a condition of the advance that the applicant's old house should first be demolished or converted into an out-office, and the advance could not be made until this condition was fulfilled. It was not fulfilled to the satisfaction of the Land Commission until the end of September last.
