Vol. 74 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Development of Seaport at Letterkenny.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he has taken any action on the recommendations of the Donegal Transport Committee with regard to the development of the seaport at Letterkenny.

The recommendation of the County Donegal Transport Committee with regard to the development of a seaport at Letterkenny was referred to the Commissioners of Public Works for the purpose of the preliminary survey which was necessary to enable me to give due consideration to the committee's recommendation. I am advised that that survey has now been completed and that plans and information are at present being prepared for the report. Owing to the magnitude of the task, however, it is not possible to indicate a date by which the report will be available; but there will be no avoidable delay in arriving at a decision on the recommendation of the committee.
