Vol. 74 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Clonsast Peat Works.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the average number of men employed daily at Clonsast Peat Works, Portarlington, during the three months ended January 31st, 1939, the rate of wages recognised and paid at these works, the average number of hours per man worked in each week during the period in question, and the average amount of wages actually paid per worker per week during that period.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply which I gave to a similar question addressed to me by him on the 16th June, 1936. On that occasion I told the Deputy that the particulars desired by him related to administrative matters, a settlement of which falls within the competence of the Turf Development Board and in which my Department does not interfere.
