Vol. 74 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - A Border Road.

asked the Minister for Finance whether the Culloville road leading to Crossmaglen has yet been approved for the transport of livestock and agricultural produce on fair days.

The proposal to approve the Culloville-Crossmaglen road for the export of cattle on fair days is at present under consideration by the appropriate British authorities.

Is the Minister aware that he made exactly the same answer to me some three months ago? I wonder can any steps be taken to expedite the consideration of this matter by the British authorities as I understand that no serious inconvenience could possibly arise.

I will undertake to bring the matter again under the notice of the British authorities, but, naturally, I cannot coerce them.

Will the Minister undertake to do that and to represent that the matter is one of some urgency?
