Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Investments by National Health Insurance Society.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the aggregate amount of the investments made by or on behalf of the National Health Insurance Society and its predecessors under Section 56 (1) (b) of the National Insurance Act, 1911, distinguishing between the amount of the investments made by the society or its predecessors under sub-section (2) of Section 56 of the Act, and the investments made directly under sub-section (3) of that section.

The aggregate nominal value of the investments made by or on behalf of Cumann an Árachais Náisiúnta ar Shláinte and its predecessors under Section 56 (1) (b) of the National Insurance Act, 1911, was £1,378,398 16s. 11d. as at the 31st December, 1938. All these investments are held by the society under sub-section (2) of Section 56 of the National Insurance Act, 1911. No investments are held by the Minister on behalf of the society under sub-section (3) of Section 56 of the Act.
