Vol. 74 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Remission of Rates.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he will state when the Bill to extend the remission of rates on new buildings under the Local Government Acts will be introduced; whether he is aware that a great deal of new residential structural work has been held up since last October owing to the fact that purchasers' solicitors require written undertakings as to the period and amount of remission of rates; and further, that builders are seriously hampered by the absence of information as to the time which will be allowed under the promised Act to complete buildings to qualify.
