Vol. 75 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Law Regarding Adoption of Children.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware of the unsatisfactory state of the law relating to the adoption of children; whether it has been brought to his notice that the corresponding legislation in Great Britain was repealed in 1926, and by the Adoption of Children Act of that year a more satisfactory and reasonable code was introduced; and whether he is prepared to introduce proposals for legislation along lines similar to those of the British Act.

The matter is at present under consideration, and I am not in a position to give the Deputy a definite reply.
