Vol. 76 No. 2

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water Supply for Baltimore.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware of the urgency of the need for providing a water supply for Baltimore, County Cork; and whether he will now issue sanction to the scheme prepared by the West Cork Board of Health and Public Assistance for this purpose.

I am aware that the county medical officer of health has reported that the existing water supply facilities in Baltimore are inadequate. On the 17th October last the West Cork Board of Health and Public Assistance gave directions for the preparation of a scheme for the provision of a piped water supply for the village, but up to the present no detailed documents on the matter have been submitted to my Department.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary quite sure that no detailed information has been submitted to his Department.

I must say that is very surprising and it does not square with the information I have, as a member of the board.

I am afraid the Deputy must be misinformed.

There is a possibility that the Parliamentary Secretary may be misinformed.

Very remote.
