Vol. 76 No. 13

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water Supply for Ballinskelligs.

Mr. Flynn

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware of the urgency of an adequate water supply for the district of Ballinskelligs; and, if so, whether he will take steps to expedite sanction for the scheme submitted to his Department by the Kerry Board of Health.

The answer to the first portion of the question is in the affirmative. The Kerry Board of Health and Public Assistance have had the provision of a water supply scheme for Ballinskelligs and Dungeagon under consideration for some time, but they have experienced difficulty in obtaining a source of supply which would prove adequate for the needs of the district. Approval to the scheme suggested by the board cannot be given before the result of further gaugings which are at present being made has been submitted to the Department.
