Vol. 77 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Advisory Committee for Ministry of Supplies.

asked the Minister for Supplies whether he is prepared to associate with his Ministry of Supplies an advisory committee of farmers, producers, manufacturers and traders.

In carrying out the functions of the Department, the advice of representative bodies of farmers, producers, manufacturers and traders, and any other interests concerned is welcomed whenever it is available. I am of opinion, however, that it would not in present circumstances be a useful step to establish one advisory committee, representative of all interests mentioned in the question.

Will the Minister consider the establishment of an advisory committee for quite a number of different items?

That has been done.

So that the answer is that the Minister will associate, for special purposes, advisory committees?

Yes, that is being done.
