Vol. 77 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mineral Deposits (Co. Cork).

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether, in view of the importance of manganese in the present world conditions, he could give any assurance of the early re-opening of the manganese deposits close to Glandore, County Cork.

A firm of consulting mining engineers has been retained to examine, on behalf of the State, the mineral deposits near Glandore. Until their report has been received and considered I can make no statement regarding the future working of the mines.
