Vol. 81 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Registration of Motor Cars.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether in view of the uncertainty of the present position with regard to the use of motor cars he will consider the refund of the excess premium charged on the registration of motor cars for one quarter of the year.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will consider refunding now to car owners, who have had their cars taxed and have been obliged to lay them up owing to petrol shortage, road tax in proportion to the time during which the car will be continuously out of use.

I am answering Questions 7 and 8 together. As the Deputy will have observed from a Government statement published in to-day's public Press, this matter is being considered.
