Vol. 82 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Extension of Dublin Hospitals.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state what proposals are in his Department concerning the extension of St. Vincent's Hospital; and whether the plans for the new hospital at Elm Park, Blackrock, County Dublin, have been approved; and, if not, will he expedite such approval in order to meet the increased demand for bed accommodation.

As regards the first part of the question, no proposals have been submitted to the Department for the extension of St. Vincent's Hospital. As regards the second and third parts no plans have been submitted for approval in regard to a new hospital at Elm Park.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state whether the original plans for the extension of the Coombe Maternity Hospital have been approved, and if, in view of the increased unemployment in the building trade, he will expedite the passing of the plans.

If the Deputy will send to the Department further information as to the original plans he refers to, I will communicate with him.
