Certain statistics relating to maintenance in hospitals are published in the annual Returns of Local Taxation. I would refer the
Deputy to the Returns of Local Taxation for the year 1938-39, page 42. The returns for the financial year 1939-40 are not yet completed but will be made available as soon as possible. No statistics for the year 1940-41 have yet been supplied by public assistance authorities.
