Vol. 82 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Transport of Turf from County Donegal.

asked the Minister for Supplies whether he will arrange for petrol supplies with which to operate transport when the turf available in the Rosses in County Donegal is cut and saved by the local people for consumption in other areas where a fuel shortage may develop next winter; or, alternatively, whether he will arrange for the transfer of this turf by sea from Dungloe to Sligo or such other centres as may require it.

Special arrangements will be made for the supply of petrol for the transport of turf in all areas within the limits of the quantity of petrol available and subject to the requirements of other essential services. The alternative suggestion in the question is being brought to the notice of the Minister for Industry and Commerce.
