Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Civil Servants on Loan.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (a) the names of companies to which higher civil servants are on loan; (b) the number of such civil servants and the amount of remuneration paid in each case in respect of services to such companies; (c) the number of civil servants drawing a salary from the State and directors' fees from such companies, giving the amount in each case.

The answer is in the form of a tabular statement which I am circulating with the Official Report.

The following is the statement:—

(a) and (b)—Higher civil servants lent whole-time to companies.

These officers are regarded as on leave without pay from the Civil Service and are not in receipt of any remuneration from public funds. Their remuneration for services rendered to the Companies is matter for arrangement between them and the Companies concerned.
