Vol. 84 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Export of Potatoes.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he will state if licences for the export of potatoes are still being issued, and, if so, whether in view of the danger of a shortage of other descriptions of food and of animal feed he will take steps to terminate the issue of licences for the export of potatoes.

Licences are not being issued at present for the export of potatoes. It is proposed, however, to arrange for the export under licence during the coming months of a limited quantity of certified seed potatoes grown specially for export and surplus to home requirements.

And there will be no ware potatoes exported?

Unless they become surplus later on.
