Vol. 84 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cattle and Poultry Feeding Stuffs.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if it is his intention to fix the retail prices for the sale of mill offals and other feeding stuffs for cattle and poultry this year, and, if so, what steps he will take to see that these prices are not exceeded; and what measures will he adopt in the case of mixed "ration" foods to enable the purchaser to know the proportion of the ingredients that make up such mixed "ration" foods.

The fixing of prices for the sale of mill offals is a matter coming within the functions of the Minister for Supplies. The question of fixing maximum prices for such other milled cereal products as may be available for feeding to animals is at present under consideration as is also that of the manufacture of compound feeding stuffs.

Will there be any mill offals for which to fix a price? I have not seen any pollard or bran for the last three months.

There is, of course, a little available—5 per cent. of the wheat.
