Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Loans for Agricultural Machinery.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the number of loans (a) up to £40, (b) up to £100, (c) the total amount advanced by way of loan, for the purchase of agricultural machinery, sanctioned by his Department during the year 1939/40, and the year 1940/41 to date.

I am giving the Deputy the information in the form of a tabular statement which will be circulated in the Official Reports.

*In the case of implements costing from £40 to £100 inclusive the arrangement is that the advances are made by the Agricultural Credit Corporation, Ltd., on the reccommendation of the Minister for Agriculture in each case.
