Vol. 85 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fencing of Leix Cottage Plots.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the cause of the delay in completing the fencing of a number of cottage plots owned by the Laoighis County Board of Health and situated at Moore Street, Rathdowney, County Leix; when the work commenced; the estimated cost of same; the amount already paid to the contractor concerned; and when the work will be completed.

The delay in completing the fencing of the plots is attributed to difficulties in procuring wire for fencing and gates and to local opposition to the manner of erecting the fencing. I understand the work is now complete except for a right-of-way which is in dispute. It is understood that the present contractor commenced work on the 22nd February last. The estimated cost of the work is £473 8s. and the amount paid is £280.
