The filling of the post does not come within the functions of my Department. The recommending of a suitable person to the local authority for appointment to the post rests with the Local Appointments Commissioners.
Will the Parliamentary Secretary say whether this matter comes under the control of his Department or the Department of Finance?
It does not come under my Department, anyhow.
When is it likely that this vacancy will be filled? The post has been vacant for a very considerable time.
I understand it will be filled in the very near future, within the next two weeks.
