Vol. 85 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerosene Distribution.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he is prepared now to make available to small trades people such as tailors and shoemakers residing in places not provided with a lighting system, a small supplementary allowance of kerosene to enable them to continue business during the winter months.

I have given careful consideration to the position of trades people of the description mentioned by the Deputy, but whilst their difficulties are fully appreciated, I regret that the limited supplies of kerosene available for distribution do not at present permit of the grant of supplementary allowances in their case.
