Vol. 85 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Soldier's Compensation for Injury.

asked the Minister for Defence when it is proposed to pay compensation to ex-Private Martin Roche (No. 431476, 13th Battalion), who was discharged on 2nd August last, in consequence of injury to one of his eyes, received during service in the Army.

Mr. Roche's application for a wound pension under Section 12 of the Army Pensions Act, 1941, in respect of injury to his left eye has been under investigation in my Department and is now being referred to the Army Pensions Board with a view to medical examination and report. When the board report to me the question of the grant of a pension will be dealt with without delay.
