Vol. 85 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Mackerel.

Mr. Lynch

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether any representations have been made to the British Food Control authorities regarding the control price of mackerel which has been fixed at 4/9 per stone whilst the price fixed during the 1914-1918 war was 7/6 per stone; and, if so, with what results.

I have been doing everything possible to secure reasonable prices for fish consigned from this country to the British market; but I do not consider that the comparative figures quoted by the Deputy would be of practical worth as the basis of negotiations in the matter.
