Vol. 85 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Travelling Facilities for Soldiers.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state whether a decision has yet been arrived at in connection with the granting of free travelling vouchers each year to all non-commissioned personnel at present serving in the Army.

It has been decided to grant one free travelling voucher in any one financial year to the following classes of non-commissioned personnel when proceeding on leave: (1) All non-commissioned officers who are on the married establishment; (2) all widower non-commissioned officers with children in respect of whom allowances are payable; (3) all privates. The free travelling vouchers are issuable with effect as on and from 15th December, 1941.

May I take it, therefore, that no non-commissioned class is really excluded?

The single non-commissioned officers are excluded.

Even duration men?
