The purchase of 20,000 waterproof capes has been approved, the garments to issue to members of the Local Security Force when proceeding on duty in inclement weather. Every effort is being made to obtain delivery, but so far it has not been found possible to procure more than 11,000 and having regard to the present acute shortage of rubber there is no likelihood of a general issue being made.
