Vol. 86 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pig Prices.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is in a position to state what price per cwt. the factories received for pigs up to 8 stone 7 lbs. for which they paid 80/- per cwt.

I am informed that there are no pigs being offered under 1 cwt. 0 q. 7 lb. at bacon factories, so that it would not be possible to state the price received for bacon from such pigs. It may interest the Deputy to learn that the average weight of pigs received in bacon factories at present is 1 cwt. 1 q. 8 lb.
