Vol. 87 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Building of Houses.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will advise the Dublin Corporation of the necessity of going ahead with the preliminary work of a normal building programme, by having sites selected and cleared and the foundations laid, as is being done on the West Cabra housing scheme, so that the post-war resumption of house building will not be unduly delayed.

The Corporation of Dublin have already carried out extensive development of housing sites including the laying of foundations in advance of actual building schemes, and works of this nature are still in progress. There are at present 855 houses and 270 flats in course of construction.
