Vol. 87 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Horse Traffic on Main Roads.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether, in view of the increase in horse traffic in the present situation, he will advise local authorities immediately on the best way of making the main roads more suitable for horse traffic, and issue instructions to them to take the necessary steps to do so.

During the debate on the Department's Vote a few weeks ago, several Deputies referred to the question of making the main roads more suitable for horse traffic, and, in replying on the 17th instant, I said the Department was giving the matter every consideration. I cannot add anything at present to the statement I then made, which is recorded on pages 1259 and 1260 of the Debates of the 17th instant.
