Vol. 88 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Compensation for Shooting.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state if he can see his way to compensate Mr. Joseph Clinton, Hand Street, Drogheda, for the loss of his daughter, who was shot by one of the military post at Boyne Viaduct, Drogheda, in January, 1942.

I am advised that there is no liability at law to pay compensation to Mr. Clinton for the loss of his daughter. I am, however, having the question of the payment of an ex gratia grant to him considered.
