Vol. 88 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hackney Owner's Petrol Supply.

asked the Minister for Supplies whether he is aware that Thomas Hannan, Kilmallock, has had his petrol supply for his hackney car (No. I.U.3527) reduced by four gallons per month; and if he will state the reason for this reduction.

I am not aware that the petrol allowance for the hackney car I.U.3527, owned by Thomas Hannan, Kilmallock, has been reduced by four gallons per month. A single deduction of four gallons was made in the allowance issued to Mr. Hannan for this vehicle for the month of October in respect of the use of the vehicle at Limerick Show on the 27th August, 1942. This deduction was made under the general decision prohibiting the use of hackney vehicles for the carrying of passengers to competitions of a sporting character, but I have had the decision reviewed and the allowance restored in this case.
