In general no standard petrol allowance is given in respect of an individual officer. Bulk allowances are allocated to each Department and are distributed by them to the officers concerned in accordance with the areas to be covered and the nature of the duties to be performed. So far as I am aware, responsibility for insurance and taxation of all the cars concerned rests with the registered owners.
