Vol. 88 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sale of Athboy Farm.

asked the Minister for Lands whether his attention has been drawn to the sale by public auction of the lands of E. C. Corcoran, Causestown, Athboy, County Meath; whether he is aware of the desire of the local residents that this farm, consisting of 113 acres, should be acquired by the Land Commission for redistribution amongst the uneconomic smallholders and landless men in the district; and whether, in view of the fact that the farm is now offered for sale, he will take steps to acquire it for the purpose of redistribution.

Representations have been received by the Land Commission suggesting the advisability of resuming for local division the holding of Edward C. Corcoran on the estate of the Hibernian Bank, Record No. S.4519, County Meath, and mentioning that the holding was being offered for sale. Owing to the emergency conditions, the Land Commission are not in a position to take any present action in the matter.
