Vol. 88 No. 13

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Abattoir.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he will state whether, in view of the growing shortage of fats, he will cause inquiry to be made into the allegation that at the Dublin Abattoir, and at some similar establishments in the city, where animals are killed and stripped, serious wastage of materials that could be used for obtaining fats takes place, with a view to taking any necessary steps to stop such wastage.

Discussions between my Department and the trade interests concerned are at present taking place regarding the supply and distribution of fats in Dublin, including the prevention of any avoidable waste of the raw materials.
