Vol. 88 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Finglas Sewerage Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state what is the present position as regards the Finglas sewerage scheme, for which tenders were recently invited; and when the county commissioner will be in a position to proceed with the scheme.

Tenders for carrying out the Finglas Main Drainage Scheme have been received and are at present under consideration. The scheme is dependent for an outfall on the city sewers. Since the scheme was prepared the Dublin Corporation have revised their proposal for a north city outfall sewer at Howth. As a result some modification may be required in the Finglas sewerage plans and until there is a decision on the corporation's proposals I am not in a position to indicate when it will be possible to proceed with the Finglas scheme.
