Vol. 89 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - The Glen of Imaal Disaster.

asked the Minister for Defence when he proposes to provide for the adequate compensation of the mother of the officer in the National Army who was killed at the Glenmalure disaster.

I presume that the lady to whom the Deputy refers is the mother of the late Lieutenant MacLoughlin, who was killed in the accident at the Glen of Imaal. I have had the question of amending the Army Pensions Acts examined with a view to the payment of an allowance to her and to other persons similarly situated. Amending legislation is now in course of preparation, and I hope to introduce it in the Dáil at an early date.
