Vol. 89 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Phibsboro' District P.O.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware of the unsatisfactory accommodation at the Phibsboro' District Post Office; and if he will indicate whether it is proposed to erect a new office; and, if so, when and where.

It is proposed to erect a new distributing office at Whitehall, where a site has already been acquired in order to provide for a general revision of the district deliveries in the northern portion of the city. Until conditions return to normal and building becomes possible, provision has been made for the relief of Phibsboro' office by the transfer of some of the delivery routes to Pearse Street Sorting Office. The suspension of the second morning delivery during the emergency has further eased the position.
