Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Milk Boards.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the names of, and the remuneration paid to, each member of (a) the Dublin Milk Board, (b) the Cork Milk Board, and (c) any other milk board at present in operation, specifying in the case of civil servants their present salary including bonus and the amount, if any, of extra remuneration payable for their services on these boards; and further, the names of, and the remuneration paid to, any persons acting in an advisory capacity to these boards.

The members of the Dublin District Milk Board are:- Chairman: Mr. M. J. Mullally. Ordinary members: Mr. J.H. Breen, Mr. P.G. Dardis, Mr. P. Harnett, Dr. A.J. Hennerty and Miss T.J. Beere.

The members of the Cork District Milk Board are:- Chairman: Mr. P.P. Lynn. Ordinary members: Messrs. D. Buckley, M.J. Corry, T.D., D. Dwyer, P. Lehane, E. Linehan, J. Mullane, T. O'Driscoll and J. Young.

These are the only milk boards established under the Milk (Regulation of Supply and Price) Acts, 1936 and 1941.

The chairman of the Dublin Board receives £700 per annum and the chairman of the Cork Board, who also acts as secretary to the board, receives £400 per annum. The ordinary members are not in receipt of remuneration for their services on these boards.

The following act in an advisory capacity to the Dublin Board without remuneration:- Messrs. J. Cavey, J. Clarke, J. Craigie, P. Frayne, J. Hill, J. Hogan, T. Long, J. McCarthy, Colonel J. McGuinness, Messrs. G. McInerney, C. Murphy, J. Tallon, J. Tyner.

All the members of the Dublin Board, except the chairman, are civil servants who are engaged part-time on the work of the board in connection mainly with matters arising out of the present emergency. The question of the payment of an allowance to these officers in respect of extra duties performed in connection with the board will be considered at a later date.
