Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Allowances for the Blind.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he has received a statement from the Dublin Corporation Special Committee dealing with the application of blind persons for an increase in their allowances; and, if so, if he will state the result of its consideration; and if he will now give sanction to the corporation to pay increases to the 1,100 blind persons on their list who are in receipt of inadequate allowances having regard to the present level of the cost of living.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The document was only received on the 24th instant.

I cannot say when a decision will be arrived at. I can merely repeat that the document was received only on 24th inst.
