Vol. 91 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pollution of County Dublin River.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state if the Dublin Conservators of Fisheries have directed his attention to the filthy condition of the River Camac, owing to the discharge of a fluid which is coating its bank and causing a very offensive smell; that this river is also discharging an effluent into the River Liffey and likewise affecting fish life there, and if he will state what steps, if any, he proposes to take to remedy this nuisance.

The Dublin Board of Conservators has, within the past few days, called the attention of my Department to this matter, which is consequently now under consideration. It will obviously take a little time to gather full particulars with a view to determining responsibility for the alleged pollution and to arrange for remedial measures.
