Vol. 92 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - British Trade Publication.

asked the Minister for External Affairs it he is aware that Trading with the Enemy (Specified Persons) (Amendment) (No. 3) Order, 1943, a publication of the British Board of Trade and procurable in this country, publishes the names and addresses of Irish Nationalists and of citizens of friendly nations who are deemed enemies of the country issuing the publication; and if he will state if these names and addresses have been officially supplied to the British Government Department, and, if so, why?

I am aware of the existence of this publication, popularly known as the the Black List, which contains the names of persons in some 30 countries, including Ireland, with whom British subjects are forbidden to trade. No names have been supplied by this Government to the British Government.
