Vol. 92 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dressing for Seed Wheat.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that several crops of wheat were affected with smut last year, and, if so, if he is taking the necessary steps to procure supplies of suitable dressing for seed wheat to prevent this disease.

It is anticipated that adequate supplies of the mercuric powders usually employed to prevent fungus diseases in wheat and other cereals will be available, but there are certain types of smut which cannot be prevented by these dressings.
