Vol. 92 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Railway Company's Fuel Supply.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he will state what is the present position of the fuel supply, apart from petrol, of the Great Southern Railways Company; whether there has been a diminution recently in the quantity of duff made available to the company for the production of briquettes and the reason for such diminution; and, further, whether he will state the arrangements which will be made to provide the company with the fuel needed to maintain its present limited passenger and goods services.

I am not satisfied that it is in the public interest to disclose the information requested by the Deputy. The Deputy may rest assured that all possible steps are being taken and will be taken to safeguard the fuel requirements of the Great Southern Railways Company.
