Vol. 93 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fuel for Sugar Factories.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he is in a position to give an assurance to farmers who are now contracting to grow sugar beet that fuel supplies will be available to operate the four factories for the campaign season.

It is obvious that, in present circumstances, no firm assurance of the kind desired can be given, but this fact should not affect in any way the beet acreage to be contracted for by farmers. Every possible effort will be made to ensure that fuel supplies will be available to operate the four beet factories for the campaign season.
