Vol. 94 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Freezing of Fish.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state whether his Department has recently, or at any time, carried out any tests in the different methods of quick freezing of fish, particularly mackerel and herrings, or if he can state whether any such tests have been carried out by the Sea Fisheries Association; and, if so, if he has recently received any reports on the matter.

Experiments in quick freezing of fish have not been carried out by my Department. Experiments of this nature are being conducted by the Sea Fisheries Association with certain classes of fish. The information so far acquired is not sufficient to enable the association to furnish a conclusive report on the subject.
