Vol. 95 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - National Anti-Tuberculosis Campaign.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he will make a statement on the arrangements, if any, made between his Department and the Irish Red Cross in respect of the National Anti-Tuberculosis Campaign of the Red Cross; and whether he is aware that there is an increasing weight of opinion that such national campaign should be re-enforced and assisted by vigorous action on the part of the Government as the gravity of the tuberculosis problem is such as to require the special attention of the Government rather than of a voluntary society.

I do not propose to make any statement in the matter at present, but I can assure the Deputy that I am giving active consideration to every aspect of the tuberculosis problem.
