Vol. 95 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Oats Exports by Red Cross Society.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether any approach was made to him by the Irish Red Cross Society regarding the export of a quantity of oats or oatmeal; and, if so, whether he will consider granting an export licence for a substantial quantity of oatmeal as this would serve a two-fold purpose, namely, help to discharge our charitable obligations to the destitute peoples on the Continent and to some extent relieve the glutted oats market at home.

The Irish Red Cross Society has made representations in regard to the export of oats and oatmeal to the European Continent, and has been informed that proposals in that connection would receive favourable consideration.
