Vol. 95 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Mayo Farms.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the tenants of the Feenone area, Louisburgh, County Mayo, hold their lands under the rundale system and consequently cannot efficiently farm or till them owing to the lack of fencing, etc.; if he is further aware that the Land Commission hold sufficient land in Feenone for over 24 years to settle local needs; and, if so, if he will take immediate steps to have the farms there rearranged.

Owing to existing difficulties, the Land Commission were not in a position hitherto to effect the rearrangement of the holdings in the townland of Feenone on the Lord Sligo estate acquired by the Congested Districts Board. The work of rearrangement has, however, been recently put in hands and is now in progress.
