Vol. 95 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Estates.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware there are a big number of uneconomic holdings in the Lucan area and, in view of this, if he will state if it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire the Waldron estate comprising over 700 acres, and the Keating estate, Ballyowen, Lucan, comprising 55 acres.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of the Waldron estate and owing to the emergency conditions they are not prepared to take any action at present on the question of acquisition.

The Land Commission have had an inspection made of the lands of Ballyowen on the Keating estate, but they have not proceeded further in the matter owing to the emergency restrictions.

Is it customary to describe 55 acres as an estate? Our ideas are shrinking.
