Vol. 95 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dundalk Turf Supplies.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he is aware that the supplies of turf brought into Dundalk during recent weeks for sale and distribution to domestic consumers were of such poor quality that merchants refused to take delivery and, as a consequence, many families were unable to secure necessary fuel for cooking and heating; and, if so, if he will take steps to have the reserve turf dumps in the town opened up to provide turf of a reasonable quality to domestic consumers in the town.

The difficulties in connection with the supply of turf in Dundalk have been eased by releasing turf from the reserve stocks.
